About this site

Milwaukee Plumbing Pros is an advertising and referral service for plumbing in Milwaukee and the nearby suburbs. We are not a plumbing company, we hold no plumbing licence, and we say that first because you should know who you are talking to before you let anyone into your basement.

How it works

You call the number on this site or send a request. That reaches us, and we pass it to an independent, licensed plumbing company that works in your part of the city. They talk to you, they quote, they do the work, and your agreement is with them. There is no charge to you for the introduction.

Why the site exists

Searching for a plumber in Milwaukee turns up a mix of national directories, forum threads and company sites that say very little about the houses here. The questions people actually have are local: whether the city will replace their lead line, what to do when the meter freezes, why the lower unit of a duplex backs up. This site tries to answer those plainly and then puts you through to a company that can do the work.

What we will and won’t tell you

Where the honest answer is “call Milwaukee Water Works before you pay anyone,” that is what these pages say, even though it means a plumbing company may not get the job. We point to the city, MMSD and the state when they are the right source. We do not publish testimonials we did not collect, licence numbers we do not hold or response times we do not control.

What this site does not have

No reviews, no star ratings and no gallery of finished jobs. The photographs are illustrative stock images; none shows work arranged through this site. Publishing reviews or job photos would mean inventing a track record for a site that does no plumbing. Judge it instead on whether the advice is accurate and useful.

Licensing

We are not licensed plumbers and do not perform plumbing work. In Wisconsin, plumbers are licensed by the Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS). The company you are put in touch with should hold the right credential, and in the City of Milwaukee the person who pulls a plumbing permit has to hold a master plumber credential. You can check any name on the DSPS credential lookup at license.wi.gov, and you are entitled to ask for proof of insurance before work starts.

Questions people actually ask

How do you make money if the call is free?

The plumbing company that receives your enquiry pays us for the introduction. You pay them for the work at whatever you agree, and nothing you pay is affected by us. That is why the site can tell you when the city, not a plumber, is the right call.

Is this one company or a list?

One company for your area. Your details do not go to five plumbers who then ring you in turn.

What if the work goes wrong?

Your agreement is with the plumbing company, so take it up with them first, and their warranty terms apply. Tell us too. The arrangement only works if the company we point people to is good.

Are you connected with Milwaukee Water Works or the city?

No. We are a private advertising and referral service with no connection to Milwaukee Water Works, MMSD, the City of Milwaukee or any suburb.
