Calling is faster, and for anything leaking it is the only sensible route. The form is fine for questions that can wait a day: a water heater that is getting old, a drain that is slow, or what to do about the pipe at your meter.
Phone
Serving Milwaukee, Wauwatosa, West Allis and the rest of Milwaukee County. Calls may be recorded — see the disclosure.
If water is coming in right now
Close the main shutoff next to the water meter before you call. If it will not turn, Milwaukee Water Works can shut the water at the curb stop. Then call this number and say it is an emergency in the first sentence.
What happens when you call
The number reaches us, and the call goes to one licensed local plumbing company that covers your area. They ask what is happening, where you are and whether the water is off, and they arrange the visit. Timing is theirs to set; we will not promise a time we do not control.
What to have ready
None of this is required. It just shortens the call.
- Address or ZIP, and whether it is a single-family house or a duplex.
- What you are seeing and where in the house.
- Whether the water is off, and whether the main valve worked.
- For a water heater: fuel type and the date on the label if you can read it.
- For a lead pipe question: a photo of the pipe where it enters at the meter.
Calls are recorded
You will hear a short announcement before the call connects. Wisconsin allows a call to be recorded with one party’s consent, but the announcement plays on every call anyway so you know before anything is said. Recordings exist so a job is not misremembered later. If you would rather not be recorded, use the form.

Common questions
Can someone come out today?
Often for repairs, but the plumbing company sets its own schedule. Say it is urgent when you call.
Can I just ask a question?
Yes. Plenty of calls end with an answer rather than a booking, especially about lead lines and what the city covers.
Or send a request
Say what is happening and a local plumbing company will get back to you, often the same or next day for repairs. Answered Mon–Sat, 7am–7pm · emergencies: call and say so first Or call (414) 533-6106 — for anything leaking right now, calling is faster.
